We are very excited to announce that our start-up, Jumpin Rides, was selected by Seedstars World to compete in Cape Town’s pitching contest, for a chance to participate in the World Finals in Switzerland and win up to one million dollars in funding. The competition will see 10 of Cape Town’s most innovative start-ups pitch to four judges from Standard Bank, Brimstone and Seedstars Africa.
Seedstars World Competition
The Seedstars World competition has been a launchpad for numerous successful start-ups from around the world. Previous winners include South African mobile recruitment app Giraffe and Philippine based payroll service Salarium, who have all gone on to raise more rounds of funding and develop into great companies. The Cape Town competition is one among 65 local pitching contests. The winners will compete at a national, then regional level to be selected for the World Finals in Switzerland.
This years competition is going to be tough, Jumpin Rides will be pitching against nine incredible Cape Town based companies: Timu Trust, EMG Arts Alternative, Yoummday, MCX Tech, Regenize, GFM, Hi5 & mbora. The field is wide with start-ups in Agri-Tech, Med-Tech, peer-to-peer marketplaces and B2B services. Come support our start-up at the competition for a greener and cheaper transport solution!

With over 3,000 registered users, the platform is well on track to reach its 6 month goals and take over the carpooling space in South Africa.
